The “Car Assembler” calls the other guy a “Moron” … “Dumber than a sack of bricks.”
In Italy, Saturday, April 5, Elon Musk called for a “Free Trade Zone” between the EU and the USA. “At the end of the day, I hope it’s agreed that both Europe and the United States should move ideally, in my view, to a zero tariff situation, effectively creating a free trade zone between Europe and North America,” the tech billionaire told Matteo Salvini, the leader of Italy’s right-wing League Party.” (See USA Today and NBC News.)
Musk also insulted Peter Navarro, Trump’s trade adviser, in a post on X, writing: “A PhD in Econ from Harvard is a bad thing, not a good thing…. “He ain’t built sh—.” (Forbes.)
Navarro, responding on CNBC on Monday, 4/7/25, in as mild and passively aggressive as possible described Tesla as car assembler,” rather than a “car manufacturer.” (YouTube). Navarro explained that Tesla assembles cars from Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese components.

The White house weighed in, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt giggling, “Boys will be boys and we will let their public sparring continue.” (NBC News)
But Musk and Navarro both work for the same man. Musk is hard at work firing US government employees in the name of efficiency and technocracy, while Navarro is focused on separating the United States from our trading partners.
Who do they work for? Trump? America? Putin?
